With a vertical drop of 4,406 feet and 3,132 acres of terrain, the sheer volume of Snowmass demands repeat visits. After experiencing even a slice of all the cruisers, glades, steeps, terrain parks and halfpipes (via 21 lifts and 91 trails), you will be back for more.

Snowfall: 2008 began with a record-breaking January in Snowmass, making two straight months where the snowfall drifted over previous records. The ski area topped 89 inches of snow for January, beating the former record of 87 inches for the month in 1982. Aspen/Snowmass records only go back to 1980. Snowmass also broke the December record when 119 inches of snow fell, beating the former mark set in 1983 by 2 inches.
FACT: Snowmass is the second largest ski area in the country—36 Disneylands could fit within the ski-area boundaries.
FACT: With a vertical rise of 4,406 feet, Snowmass has the highest vertical rise of any ski area in the country—higher than three Sears Towers or four Eiffel Towers.

Best known for: Wide-open, groomed cruising and family-friendly activities. Snowmass has long been rated one of the best family ski areas in North America.
Best-kept secret: Dine for lunch at the rustic Lynn Britt Cabin located mid-mountain. The daily "Noon Groom," a freshly groomed run that reopens at noon. Take the short hike to the Long Shot trail where intermediate skiers and snowboarders can get a backcountry experience while in-bounds.
Lift hours: The Sky Cab opens at 8 a.m.; the Cirque lift opens at 10 a.m.; the Village Express and Big Burn lifs open at 8:30 a.m.; all other lifts open at 9 a.m.

What's new: Already one of North America’s premier resorts, Snowmass continues to undergo a host of on-mountain improvements that will greet skiers and riders: a new Sheer Bliss lift; Sam’s Smokehouse restaurant and Sneaky’s Tavern; additional commercial, residential and restaurant space in base village; the new Treehouse Kids’ Adventure Center; the Elk Camp Meadows learning area accessible by the eight-passenger Elk Camp Gondola. In addition, the Snow Park Technologies-designed Snowmass Park now includes a 22-foot superpipe! Plus, thanks to the latest in radio frequency technology, guests will speed through select gates at access lifts without requiring a scan or check.
Location: Within the White River National Forest, adjacent to Snowmass Village and 9 miles from downtown Aspen

FREE Parking: Town Park Station (formerly Rodeo Lot), shuttles depart starting at 6:40 a.m. every twenty min. until 7:20 a.m. for the ski area. 10 minute service 7:20 a.m. – 5:10 p.m. HOV (four or more) park free in lots C.
Paid Parking: Lots C, E, and Two Creeks $13 per day. Permits (winter only) can be purchased from the parking attendant from 7:30 a.m. until noon daily in Lot C. Two Creeks permits can be purchased from the parking attendant from 8 a.m. until noon daily.
FREE Bus Service: Snowmass skier shuttle runs every 10 - 15 min. from Rubey Park in Aspen. Shuttles run from SM to Aspen from 8:00am – 4:45pm. To access Two Creeks by bus from Aspen, riders must take the #3 Village Shuttle from the mall. RFTA will not be running a direct bus from Aspen to Two Creeks.
